Today, I realised even though I’ve been living in America for 4 years my 1 week visit to England is so far the best week of the past 4 years (: MLIB

Today, I noticed that whenever I’m reading stories on MLIB, I always read them with a British accent. Also, when I went to post this story, the catagory ‘Accent’ was already selected. I’m onto you, MLIB, MLIB

Today, heck, everyday, I get puzzled looks and “corrected” whenever I use the word schedule and pronounce it properly (I’m a Brit living in the USA), MLIB

Today, I realised even though I lived in London for much of my youth before moving to the States. Sadly (it’s depressing, really), after almost ten years, I’ve lost my accent. But my American friends tell me to “talk British” nearly every day and on more than one occassion i have been mocked for saying “oy.” Or about the World Cup, MLINB

Today, I realised that every country has things associated with it. I’m Irish and we are the country of Bono, Guinness and sheep. I think we win over scones and tea, MLINB

Today, I realised every English person I know doesn’t sound like they have an accent and yet every English accent I hear on TV or online sounds really English. MLIB

Today, I was in class at Brown University. The Professor asked what ubiquitous meant. Emma Watson answered. My professor yelled, “That’s correct Ms. Granger, 10 points for Gryfindor!”, MLIB

Today, a hoodie tried to mug me, I waited in possibly the longest queue in existence, and was ignored by four cabbies. Oh, and it rained, MLIB
